Justice seeked for Bournemouth widow who died after glass fall

The daughter of Rosemary Probert, a keen traveller and fundraiser is still seeking justice for an unfortunate accident two years in Benidorm. 76 year old Rosemary died when she mistakenly walked through a glass panel in the four star Gran Hotel Bali and fell head first down a flight of marble steps in March 2007.

Mrs. Probert was heading out of a restaurant and failed to notice the glass atrium which she walked into with such force that she staggered backwards and fell down the stairs. Paramedics failed to place neck supports on Ms. Probert who died six days later after surgery for a broken neck.

The inquest into her death recorded a verdict of accidental death but the coroner warned that there should have been more notices on the glass and that the medical treatment she received was not as good as it might have been in the UK.

The hotel has now placed warning stickers on the glass and placed plants in front of the panels to prevent future accidents.
